A Michelin Star Sous Chef – SOCIAL by Heinz Beck with Waldorf Astoria Hotels

What will I be doing?

As a Michelin Star Sous Chef – SOCIAL by Heinz Beck| you are responsible for
managing all aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member
experience. A Sous Chef would also be required to manage food provisions|
assist with guest queries| and control costs. Specifically| you will be
responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Ensure that the uniform provided is kept clean| presentable and in good
condition| ensuring personal appearance and hygiene standards are an example
for the team
Co-ordinate all team members| ensuring they perform well and cohesively
Check and supervise all aspects of the kitchen
To be part of the line staff/cooking whenever required

Work closely with the team and Chef de cuisine on all day to day matters
Ensure that all information relating to bookings and movements is communicated
appropriately and understood
Ensure the co-ordination between kitchen and restaurant managers| resulting in
a smooth running operation

Encourage everyone to aspire to the highest standards of food cooking and
service
Work at ensuring all components of the kitchen work as one team
Participate in receiving and checking incoming goods
Co-ordinate the availability of all raw food items
Ensure that the appropriate methods are used in the handling of all food items
in accordance with HACCP requirements

Periodic Duties

Be flexible regarding shifts| i.e. covering absent staff| weekends| nights
Be available for external promotions| charity events or demonstrations

Attend meetings and team briefings| relaying relevant information to
colleagues as directed by the Executive Chef

Occasional Duties

Liaise with the HR Training & Development Manager on departmental training
needs and follow up of such for the assigned team members

What are we looking for?

working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role| you should
maintain the attitude| behaviours| skills| and values that follow:

A driven| professional and confident Sous Chef with a proven track record
working within reputable/Michelin restaurants and/or hotels.

Someone who has hands on approach.

A Sous chef who can work well under pressure

A great leader/motivator for the junior members of the kitchen.

The ideal applicant will have held a similar position for at least 2 years

A well-organized chef who can work well in a creative and demanding
environment

Previous experience cooking modern Italian/Mediterranean cuisine with Michelin
standard is required.
