Responsible for leading and managing the Reservations Team to achieve budgeted and forecasted Rooms Revenue| through the conversion of Reservation calls to sales| whilst delivering customer satisfaction.
Maintain database accuracy in order to get return correct inventory and rates to market| segment our business property| and track our business to facilitate strategic analysis.
Perform any other reasonable task requested by the Director of Revenue.
Be fluent in the key principles of Marriott Pricing Strategies and Revenue Management (including Retail| Corporate| Leisure| Group; Rate Restrictions| hurdles and availabilities; Forecasts and Budgets; Key Revenue Management Metrics).
Be fluent in the key principles of Marriott Sales Programs.
Ensure Valhalla is an accurate representation both in information| inventory| rates and availability of the PMS| either through maintenance of IPS or the PRSNet (IPS properties: ensure that the Property Inventory report and Audit Report are run and reviewed daily).
Support the Revenue Management leader through providing accurate information pertaining to the market| forecasting| and other revenue management strategies.
Be able to update the daily information in the Revenue Plan| and take on other Revenue Management duties in the absence of the Revenue Management leader.
Provide contingency for the Revenue Management leader.
Work closely with the Sales Department to ensure Group Allocations and Reservations are handled diligently and accurately.
Monitor the Prospective/Tentative bookings to ensure accurate forecasting and stat using| and ensure timely group pickup/rooming lists.
Handle elevated customer queries and complaints relating to Rooms Reservations.
Co-host dinners/special events with the Sales Team and be involved in client entertainment as required.
Implementation and standards
Responsible for the brand standard adherence and divisional and corporate standards for the PMS and IPS| including rooms inventory (feature codes and descriptions)| rate categories including sell sequence and rate codes including market segmentation| seasonality and price points and timeliness of entry.
Responsible for the Reservations Team being fully compliant with the Marriott Core Reservation Standards.
Monitor results and take appropriate constructive action.
Responsible for all departments that may take reservation calls and make bookings| create profiles| make a group block etc. to adhere to Divisional| IPS and local standards| including Reservations| Front Office and the Sales/Events Department.
Take a leading role in the accuracy of the Company Profiles (maintain company profiles relationships and hierarchies for accuracy of StarTrack and internal profile consolidations| ensure timeliness and accuracy of rate codes on the company profiles for accurate corporate reservations).
Work closely with the Sales Team to ensure correct rate availability for contracted customers.
Monitor Group Reservations to ensure standards are met| data is inputted according to standards| conversion of group bookings is handled with a focus on revenue management| and rooming lists are entered in a timely and accurate manner.
Complete understanding and effective execution of current and new RM tools. This includes Opera PMS/S&C| IPS| PRSNet.
Take a leading role in all property PMS Conversions.
Undergo training for all RMS installations.
Have a complete understanding and effective use of the Hotel’s telephone system.
Understand Best Rate Guarantee compliance.
Liaise daily with the Revenue Management leader and Sales & Marketing leader regarding business on the books and the strategy for the day.
Convey customer feedback to assist the Revenue Management and Sales Teams in pricing and sales strategies.
