What will I be doing?

As a Bus Person| you are responsible for performing the following tasks to the
highest standards:

Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all service ware as prescribed.

Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware| linen and condiments. Wipe down booths and chairs| move tables and chairs| and clean floors as necessary.

Serve guests with beverages| breads and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary. Assist server with food & beverage service to ensure guest satisfaction.

Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.

Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.

Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking side stations.

Perform other duties as requested| such as cleaning unexpected spills| handling special guest requests| greeting and seating guests and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Attend required meetings.

To report on duty punctually according to the duty roster and be mindful of personal appearance and grooming.

Must abide by all the rules and regulations of the hotel and of the outlet itself.

Must maintain a high standard of service and strive to improve at all times.

Must co-ordinate and co-operate with waiter/waitress and manager at all times to ensure the smooth running of the outlet.

Co-ordinate guest order deliveries with waiter/waitress.

Assist supervisor and waiter/waitress during the service and take food and beverage orders in peak periods.

Always observe established service procedures.

Act as an expediter in helping restaurant waiter/waitress as needed.

Give priority to rush items as directed by the supervisor.

Clean tables| helping and moving a guest|s chair at any time.

Assist in keeping the back of the restaurant clean and organized.

Help fold napkins| keep restaurant linen container empty| take soiled linen to housekeeping and replenish with fresh linen| re polish the silverware| set up the back area and to organize the food pick up area.

Should always be courteous| friendly and have a pleasing attitude toward guests and fellow team members.

Take immediate action when service is requested and help team members any time needed.

Immediately bring to the attention of the supervisor or manager a guest who is not satisfied with food and beverage or service.

Responsible for understanding and performing according to standards| policies and procedures.

Notify any incidents to your manager.

Guest Service

Greet all guests with a warm smile| and by name if possible.

Time the service to correspond with the pace of the guest.

Remain readily accessible and attentive to guests.

Ensure required mise en place is complete prior to service.

Responsible for building through knowledge of food and beverage served in the restaurant| suggestive selling and up-selling of our products.

Maintain an awareness of menu changes and promotional activities within the restaurant and hotel.

Maintain discreet observation of guests| noting appropriate times to refill glasses and other signals of attention.

Remove dirty dishes as well as extra settings.

At the start of each shift ensure tables are set up accordingly to service standards| with clean silverware and glassware.

Ensure empty tables are cleared and reset as soon as possible after they are vacated.

Must keep working area clean and organized at all times.

Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory and proper condition of equipment and operating supplies.

Attend training sessions.

To have a good knowledge about other outlets| promotions and packages.

To be fully aware of the hotel|s licensing| fire and health and safety regulations.

To perform any other reasonable requests from management.

_Job responsibilities will include| but not limited to the following:_

Provide excellent guest service by discovering all of our guests needs and acting on these needs promptly| effectively and with confidence.
Work across all areas of to ensure that guest expectations are exceeded and standards are consistently maintained.
Table set-ups and station preparation prior to service and at the end of the shift|
Maintaining the condition of the dining room and controlling guest checks and payments
Communicate and work closely with kitchen staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
Liaise and communicate effectively with all departments to ensure seamless transfer of information takes place.
Attend monthly staff meetings with ideas of how to improve business performance.
Key relationships with the the Hotel to ensure customer expectations are met/exceeded at all times.
To positively contribute to the sales activities within your department/hotel and maximize sales opportunities and to be knowledgeable of company products
To keep wastage to a minimum and be vigilant in reducing expenditure
To identify and notify Supervisor of all maintenance requirements hazards in the work place to comply with hotel and company mandatory requirements for fire| health and safety| licensing and employment and to ensure that members of the team are also aware of these requirements and are working in accordance with the requirements
To comply with Municipality regulations regarding Food Hygiene procedures.
To be flexible in assisting around different areas of the hotel in response to business and client needs
To perform all tasks to a consistent standard as detailed with the department standard of performance manual| and to promote within Hotel and Brand key Standards
To attend daily briefing sessions and Hotel/Departmental meetings when required
To attend training sessions and meeting when required and to operate in line with the training or information received

Tenure in current position minimum one year in Mina Seyahi Complex
Minimum 1 year experience in the relevant area of luxury restaurant environment
Excellent command of the English language speaking| reading and writing
Requires good communication skills| both verbal and written.
Multiple language ability| an advantage
Smart in appearance and well groomed
Good interpersonal skills
Hotel / High school or equivalent education required
Knowledge in computer

Always offer a choice of sparkling or still water

Check back after two bites of the main course

Crumb the table after main course or when necessary

Change the ashtray after two butts and after putting dishes on the table

Offer a refill when a third of the drink is left

Clear empty glasses and dishes as necessary

Serve all beverages in accordance with Brand Standards and Use Records

Answer any guest questions about the menu items| daily specials and beverages| including knowledge of the ingredients| preparation methods and garnishes. Make appropriate suggestions to suit guest needs and proactively up-sell items.

Check food before serving it to the guest to ascertain that appearance| temperature and portions are correct.

Operate the MICROS and Respak system accurately:

Ensure accurate and informative punching of orders

Have any voids or adjustments initialed by a supervisor

Enter and update the Respak system accurately| without adding unnecessary profiles

Ensure the prompt bussing of tables once the guest has departed. Ensure all re-setups of tables are clean| stain free and accurate| with special attention to detail.

Side stations must be clean and organized at all times.

Do all necessary set-up and side work assigned.

Each associate is expected to carry out| within their capabilities| all reasonable requests by management. This may involve working in or moving to another Food & Beverage outlet.
