JOB SUMMARY

To manage the safety and physical security program and to enforce the program
within the scope of the hotel requirements. To monitor the day-to-day
operations of subordinate security force for the physical security and safety
of the hotel assets| in accordance with hotel policies and government
regulations. To ensure maximum security and safety of guest and associates.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience:

5-7 years previous experience with police| hospitality security and/or military experience

Education or Certification

University degree or relative experience in the Security Management

SPECIFIC DUTIES

_The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the
successful performance of the position:_

Managing Security/Loss Prevention Operations:
Conduct hazard and risk assessments
Complies with applicable federal| state and local law and safety regulations.
Maintains logs| certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures.
Supervises and reviews initial incident investigations and promote timely responses for all reported incidents.
Follows proper key control guidelines in loss prevention and in the property.
Assists with promotion and implementation of accident and fire prevention procedures.
Incorporates into patrols| which encompass all areas of the property|s interior and exterior| an inspection tour of recording system.
Follows up on all unusual activities in and around the property that would impair the wellbeing of guests and employees.
Handles complaints| settles disputes| and resolves grievances and conflicts| or otherwise negotiates with others.
Promotes action plans to monitor and control risk.
Oversees all loss prevention operations to include but not limited to patrol process| emergency response| investigations (initial and follow up) for all guest and employee related incidents| shipping and receiving process (makes recommendations for improvement)| electronic key system and manager on duties responsibilities.
Assists with first aid program for guests and employees.
Assists with the claims process and protects company assets by closely monitoring the General Liability and Worker|s Compensation cases.
Works closely with Meeting Planners to facilitate a successful and safe experience for guests.

Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities

Interviews| selects and trains employees.
Appraises employee’s productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status.
Provides for the safety and security of the employees or the property.
Monitors employee attendance and records absences/tardiness.
Helps direct supervisors to achieve their own development goals.
Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

Meets quality standards and customer expectations on a daily basis.
Identifies the educational needs of others| develops formal educational or training programs or classes| and teaches or instructs others.
Inspects and critiques the performance of the loss prevention department to establish and maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.

Conduct key control audit| monitor electronic key boxes| issue/receive master
keys| radios| and beepers; ensure the safekeeping of these items. Patrol all
areas of the property; assist guests with room access. Monitor Closed Circuit
Televisions and alarm systems. Respond to accidents| contact EMS or administer
first aid/CPR as required. Assist guests/employees during emergency
situations. Notify appropriate individuals in the event of accidents| attacks|
or other incidents. Defuse guest/employee disturbances. Call for outside
assistance if necessary. Complete incident reports to document all
Security/Loss Prevention related incidents. Resolve safety hazard situations.
Escort unwelcome persons from the property. Report to scenes of vehicle
accidents/thefts. Call for assistance using proper code responses. Complete a
Loss Prevention shift summary/daily activity report. Maintain confidentiality
of all reports/documents; release information only to authorized individuals.
Provide proper paperwork to employees requiring outside medical treatment.
Type| proofread| and copy security reports. Assist management in training| and
motivating; serve as a role model. Assign and ensure work tasks are completed
on time.

JOB SUMMARY
 
Assists with security operations management on a daily basis. Areas of responsibilities include the protection and safety of property assets, employees, guests and property, accident and fire prevention and response. This role focuses on maintaining safe and secure environment for guests, employees and hotel assets by managing security policies, logs, certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Criminal Justice or related major; no work experience required.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Security Operations

• Assists in the development and implementation of emergency procedures.

• Recommends follow-up action for security breaches.

• Conducts investigation of all losses of property assets and refers to proper management for disposition.

• Complies with all Corporate Security safety and security management guidelines and procedures.

• Completes proper documentation and reports all employee accident and general liability incidents to Claims Reporting Service.

• Conducts periodic patrols of entire property and parking areas.

• Recognizes success across areas of responsibility.

• Handles guest problems and complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

• Identifies and makes recommendations for minimizing physical hazards and unsafe work practices.

• Keeps abreast of local criminal activity as it may impact property.

• Maintains required reports and documentation regarding patrols of property and parking areas.

• Inspects all security equipment and verify that it is fully functioning.

• Provides means for obtaining necessary medical attention on a timely basis.

• Participates in hourly employee performance appraisals according to Standard Operating Procedures.

• Completes disciplinary procedures and documentation according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process.

• Maintains first aid and CPR certifications required for Security officers.

• Implements local authority requirement for security and safety.
