_Job responsibilities will include| but not limited to the following:_

To be responsible for the safety and well-being of all Hotel guests and Club members using the recreation facilities
To provide first aid treatment or BLS in the event of any accident or injury to a guest
Ensure guest expectations are exceeded at all times whilst displaying a helpful & cheerful attitude
Providing help & assistance to guests while maintaining a professional appearance at all times
Assist in the preparations of facilities for special functions & themed evenings within the Swimming pools & Beach area
When not on lifeguard duty| assist with all other duties as required by the management.
Report any safety concerns to management in order to maintain the highest standard of guest safety at all times
Enforce facility rules & provide crowd control in a friendly manner throughout the aquatic areas as necessary
Ensure that all rescue / emergency equipment are well maintained and in the correct position at all times.
To be aware and to implement all relevant aspects of Health and Safety legislation and company procedures
Attend lifeguard courses / weekly trainings internal and external which are deemed essential by the management.

To move into this position you should have

Recognized lifeguard certificate is definite advantage. i.e. NPLQ/ NBLQ (RLSS )/ HIGHFIELD / Ellis & associates
National lifeguard certificate must. i.e. Bronze medallion| Red Cross or equivalent certificate
To be able to swim 400m in less than 8 min
Sound knowledge in life guarding| CPR and First Aid
Good communication in English language is a must
Minimum one years as a lifeguard in the reputed hotel or beach resort
Outdoor work and fit to work on shifts basis
Fun| friendly & enthusiastic approach to customer service.
Willingness to learn & develop.
Holding open water diving qualification is an advantage

• Assists the Director of Engineering in administering fire prevention

• Assists in the development of detailed |shut down| procedures for the

• Develops a monthly checklist for all cctv equipment| alarmed doors| and
duress alarms to ensure that they are fully functional.

• Follows Duty of Care process for the protection of guests and employees.

• Follows up on all unusual activities in and around the property that would

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager- Recreation
responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Operations
Ensure all lifeguards are provided with and sign for a copy of the Risk Assessment- NOP and EAP.
Train all lifeguards in the elements contained within the NOP and EA

Train all lifeguards in the departmental SOP`s

Ensure there is the appropriate number of lifeguards on patrol at all pools and beach at all times- in line with the NOP

Ensure all safety equipment- life-saving equipment and first aid equipment is checked at the beginning and end of each day

Prepare the weekly roster with consideration to peak periods and peak times.
Identify and report hazards and maintenance requirements at the pool and beach areas.
Check the swimming pools- furniture and pool and beach area on a daily basis. Make sure that it is safe- clean and fit for guests use.
Continually patrol the areas under your supervision- ensuring smooth operation.
Ensure that pool and beach checklists are completed and filled by the lifeguards daily.
Ensure all lifeguards enforce the Hotel rules and regulations.

Ensure that Lifeguards are wearing the correct uniform on duty and are groomed in line with grooming standards.
Ensuring that all lifeguards rotate every 20 minutes.
Ensure that breaks are managed effectively- and lifeguard cover is maintained on the pools and beach.
Maintain and develop teamwork between the lifeguards.
Organize rescue drills on a weekly basis.
Register pool readings (Ch- PH- temp) 3 times per day.

Log into the Royal Service system- pool and beach logbook- and immediately report to the Recreation Manager / Director of Recreation.
Plan and lead daily Lifeguards briefings.
Training

Organize weekly lifeguard training to include patrolling / scanning- rescue- first aid & CPR.
Ensure full attendance at lifeguard training- and ensure attendance sheets- photographic evidence and the subject matter for the session (handouts etc.) are filed on the lifeguard training file.
Ensure all lifeguards attend and participate in departmental and hotel training to ensure consistent delivery of product & service standards.
Maintain records of lifeguard and first aid qualification training- and ensure that all lifeguard qualifications are kept up to date.

Health & Safety

Give immediate First Aid in the event of an injury or trauma
Ensure all lifeguards are fully aware of the fire emergency plan and health and safety regulations.
Record all accidents- incidents and hazards immediately.
Ensure that all equipment and furniture is clean and well maintained and that any hazards are repaired or removed.
Ensure all Risk assessments are up to date- and all lifeguards receive a copy and are trained in the contents.
Ensure lifeguarding operations are in line with corporate guidelines and Dubai Municipality requirements.
General

Promote a professional image and give full co-operation to all guests with a prompt- caring and helpful attitude.
Promote and maintain teamwork with all colleagues to ensure equality in the workplace is maintained without any form of discrimination
Comply with all hotel rules and regulations as outlined in the handbook and to be aware of company disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Maintain professional confidentiality and never disclose information relating to Hotel operations.
Ensure all lifeguarding operations comply with all legal requirements under U.A.E law and company policy.
To comply with statutory & legal requirements for fire- health & safety and employment.
Ensure all lifeguards report for duty on time and leave on time
Ensure all lifeguards comply with the grooming standards of the hotel- and are clean & tidy and wearing the correct appropriate uniform and name badge.
Provide full co-operation to all colleagues requiring assistance in a prompt and helpful manner and assist around the Hotel in response to business and guest`s needs.
Assist in creating an environment which promotes staff morale- encourages colleagues to have pride in their department and their skills and ensuring maximum efficiency.
Critically evaluate one`s own performance and consistently set high standards.
Set up and maintain systems of information and ensure quality and safety procedures are being followed.
Any other duties as and when requested by the Recreation Manager / Director of Recreation/ Director of Spa & Recreation.

Customer Focus

Ensure that all lifeguards engage with the guests in a professional and friendly manner and in line with the Service Promises.
Ensure lifeguards actively seek feedback from guests rather than wait for complaints- and resolve guest issues whilst recording the feedback as guest recovery.

Provide praise and recognition to lifeguards and other members of the team.
Encourage teamwork within the team as well as with other teams and departments.
Ensure all lifeguards are treated fairly- equally and with respect.

Qualifications:

Ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.
Able to swim 400 meters in less the 8 minutes.
Able to work under the sun over 45c.
Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.

Excellent communication and listening skills.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Good understanding of English (Reading & Writing)
Minimum of 3 years lifeguarding experience.
Valid Pool Lifeguard Qualification and Beach Lifeguard Qualification
Computer Knowledge
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

Constant standing and walking throughout shift
