About the job:

An exciting role has arisen in the Operations department at Jumeirah Emirates Towers for a highly motivated and hardworking individual.

The main duties of the role are:
To ensure that all water areas are protected during operational hours by practicing preventative lifeguarding in accordance with the Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program
Understand and follow all jumeirah Standard Operating Procedures, and Emergency Action Plans
Perform water rescues, First Aid, and CPR when needed
Enforce facility rules and provide crowd control in a friendly manner throughout the aquatic areas as necessary
Exude a friendly, helpful and cheerful attitude while communicating effectively with guests and colleagues
Provide professional lifeguarding services at any Jumeirah property and exclusive use event when needed, and assist in the preparations of facilities for special functions, themed evenings, etc.
Clean all areas of the pools and walkways, both in and above the water, including all pool furniture and paths
Report any safety concerns to management

About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Experience:

-Able to swim 200 meters in less than 4 minutes 30 seconds

-Able to retrieve a brick from a depth of 3 meters
-Able to tread water with their hands above the water line for 2 minutes and hands under the water for 3 minutes

POSITION PURPOSE
To assist and support the Recreation Manager in all operational procedures and codes of conduct as set down by the management and to promote the recreational facilities and services.
To ensure the smooth running of the recreational facilities and represent the interests of the company at all times.
To assist the Recreation Manager with the training and development, implementation of the recreation budget, marketing objectives, operational criteria, programming, staff relations and training, facility upkeep, and superior guest relations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To take full management responsibilities of Pool & beach Area in the absence of the Recreation Manager
Ensure that all operational procedures are carried out in the prescribed manner such as daily checklist for lifeguard and attendants

To ensure that the facility is adequately manned at all times.
To ensure proper induction and training of all employees is carried out.
To ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the facility at all times.

Ensure all lifeguards & pool attendants are provided with, and sign for a copy of the risk assessment, and departmental FOE’s and Train all Pool & beach attendants in the departmental FOE’s.
Carry out Weekly Training CPR, First Aid, Physical training, Swimming and proper rescue.
Identify and report hazards and maintenance requirements at the pool and beach areas.
• Carry out personally quarterly regular un-announced rescue drills in coordination with the hotel
management to maintain the highest level of lifeguard skills.
Plan, facilitate and document all lifeguard training sessions as well as to ensure all lifeguard qualifications are kept up to date.
Report any guest’s feedback, comments or complaints to Recreation Manager and Assist in First Aid situations
Prepare the weekly roster for the Lifeguard & pool attendants with consideration to peak periods and peak times.
Prepare monthly Inventory for all beach & pool facilities (sunbeds-umbrella –Towels, trolley).
Monitor daily towel usage for Nation Riviera and Azura.

Job Overview

Ensure a high level of product knowledge of the hotel and local area and know what is happening in the hotel on a daily basis.
Ensure that guests receive fast, efficient and friendly service following the departmental guidelines.
Conduct a number of daily inspections to ensure cleanliness of working areas, reporting defects and cleanliness issues to appropriate personnel.
To maintain your working area in a hygienic safe and presentable state at all time and clean up after each guests and at the end of your shift
Advance and constantly update yourself with the knowledge of the principles of fitness and training, concepts of health and the effects of exercise on the human body.
Teach a multitude of exercise techniques from a variety of fitness scenarios.
Program exercises for individual guests as requested.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the general principles of nutrition and influence on the performance of exercise activities.
Qualifications
Ideally you’ll have at least two (2) years experience in a similar role in a 5 stars hotel. Ultimately, you have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, proficient skills for written and oral communication in English. The right candidate portrays a professional image at all times and posses strong multi tasking and admin skills.

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

You should ideally be a well build, physically fit, trained and qualified Fitness Instructor with previous experiences, preferably within the hospitality industry. Computer skills are an advantage.
