Associate Director – MEP Cost Management
 
Faithful+Gould are seeking to expand the MEP cost management team based for the UAE from both a team size and client development perspective. Based from Dubai or Abu Dhabi, you will lead the MEP cost management team for MEP deliverables for all UAE cost management projects.
 
Additionally, you shall support our ME and Africa teams, as senior MEP representative in the business.
 
Responsibilities

Preparation and delivery of MEP estimates, cost plans, Bills of Quantities, pre-tender estimates and post contract QS administration
Contract interpretation and advice/action
Client and stakeholder management
Executive level reporting
Internal programme management
Managing and assisting technical teams to prepare task orders/work packages
Project/Client specific Change Management
Reporting on project performance
Leveraging project commercial performance – revenues and costs
Ensure time charge hours properly captured and invoiced on time.
Preparation of MEP sector business plans.
Develop strategic client relationships and key accounts.
Profit and loss responsibility.

Essential Criteria

In-depth knowledge and experience in MEP cost management and contract administration
Middle East experience in last 4-5 years preferable
Middle East delivery experience in UAE would be a differentiator
Good contract, commercial and financial understanding, 10 years post qualification experience
Excellent written English for preparation of task orders, contract letters and communications
Good communication skills to work with the design teams and obtain the required information
Understanding of standard methods of measurement
Good attention to detail and ability to review estimates, cost plans and bills of quantities prior to issue
Client facing role at both pre- and post-contract stages.
Desirable Criteria
Professional Membership – MRICS
Knowledge of FIDIC contracts.
Qualifications
Degree or similar in Quantity Surveying preferred, but not essential.

Responsibilities

Degree qualified professional who has reached Managerial level,
15 years of experience and preferably have experience similar to this project/role.

Reporting to the Senior Contract Manager, this role will be responsible to support contract pre and post contract procurement and contract management activities.
 
The SQS / Contracts Manager is responsible for negotiating the terms and conditions of contracts and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions during the Contract administration phase, as well as documenting and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise during the Contract period.

The SQS / Contracts Manager provides guidance and assistance to Project Managers on all contract matters.
 
Job Duties:
 
Budget, procurement and commercial management of contracts pre, during and post Contract
 
Work with Designers, service streams and Contractors to manage and control contract scope and cost within budget
 
Support procurement and the production of pricing schedules for tendering, working closely with Employers Procurement Commercial Managers

Job Summary
 
The Mechanical Inspector will ensure the contractors are compliant with the contract documents, coordinate on a daily basis with the other teams to document and verify the quality and quantity of work performed by the Contractor and process the incoming Inspection Requests and technical submittals, and perform the necessary actions.
 
Job Duties

Reading and understanding the package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, together with any associated updates.
 
Ensuring the contractor(s) are complying with the standards and specifications of the contract documents through observation, measurements, and testing as well as tracking quality assurance progress.

Maintaining records of the contractor manpower and equipment daily resources.

Undertaking all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
