Job Summary
AECOM is currently seeking Principal Marine Structural Engineer for Dubai
location.
Make a significant contribution to the sales- profitability and management of
work and people in the Geotechnical- Ports & Marine Group.
Develop the Coastal and Marine Engineering discipline to enable AECOM to be a
leader in the Middle East region.
Job Duties:
Contribute to the Ports & Marine & Geotechnical Group.

Skills – Develop and retain a high level of technical skill.

Project Delivery – Perform project management and |hands on| technical work to
support the delivery of projects. Coordinate and supervise the work created by
the marine team. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines through liaison
with other professionals. Monitor the work of staff allocated to specific
projects to ensure that technical competence and performance meets the
requirements of allocated projects. Ensure that all projects are delivered on
time and on budget.

Clients – support the established client base in the Middle East market.
Maintain harmonious client relationships as the project and local market
level.

Continuous Improvement – A commitment to continual professional development. A
commitment to continual learning on relevant technological business and human
relationship matters.

Business Growth – Assist the Ports & Marine and Geotechnical Group Leader to
deliver the growth- diversification and stability targets set out in the
regional strategic plan.

Specific skills required:

Extensive experience in the planning and design of marine structures such as
breakwaters- revetments- marinas- scour protection systems- block work
quaywalls- sheet pile- diaphragm walls- jetties.

Extensive experience in the planning and design of artificial islands-
beaches- marinas- harbours and water front development.

Extensive knowledge in coastal modelling including hydrodynamic- waves and
sediment transport modelling including knowledge of DHI Mike Zero and Delft
modelling suites- Staad Pro- Plaxs- Geo5- Slope-W.

Experience in the Middle East in a consultancy environment.

Availability to travel within the Middle East;

Availability to do occasional site supervision trips in UAE and Middle East

Experience in project management- proposal preparation and business
development;

Experience in port planning and design of port structures; and

Experience in geotechnical and foundation design of coastal and marine
structures.

Minimum Requirements

7 to 20+ years` experience in coastal or marine engineering-geotechnical engineering discipline in a consultancy environment;

Project management experience for consulting projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Engineering

Higher level degree (M.Sc or P.hD desirable)

Master or PhD in Civil- Marine- Marine structures- Coastal- Oceanography or related field.

Job Summary
The ideal candidate must have experience in a similar capacity and possess experience in management system software.
Undertakes full day to day PM role on a project or on a range of projects based in the UAE and Oman.
She/he may also run a significant component of a major project from inception to completion.
Plans- directs- and supervises all operations included in moderately-sized projects with some risk and complexity; moderate financial impact.
Manages and leads the overall project and/or team- including all technical- financial- and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools.
Works under minimal supervision.
Take on full responsible for all aspects of the project.
Be responsible for a segment of a large / major project under the general guidance of an SPM .

Competent with all relevant AECOM systems and processes.

Provides (where required) support for business development activities.

Supports in professional development of more junior staff.

Should have experience in Design elements and should have good understanding of safety in design principles.

Minimum Requirements

10-15 years with at least 5 years of relevant PM experience

Understands technical and procedural aspects of project delivery from inception to post-completion and is able to identify and promote solutions.

Develops strong and effective relationships with clients and gain their confidence.

Excellent communication skills. Excellent organisational skills.

Recognised as a team leader / collaborator- who shares knowledge freely and offers support to his reportees- peers and seniors.

Preferred Qualifications

Engineering Degree is essential plus PMP certification e.g.. PE (or equivalent) or working towards.

Structural engineers work closely within design teams to ensure that the

Ideally degree qualification at 2:1 or higher.

Job Duties:
