Position Summary:
To assist in the review and development of the architecture process across
Development hotel projects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). To
assist the Director of Architecture with the enhancement of the quality of
design| by translating and managing multiple projects across geographical
boundaries and between multiple stakeholders.

What will I be doing?

In conjunction with the above| the role is also to assist the Director with
all architecture responsibilities including technical review of all
specifications| detailed planning drawings and construction details to meet
both Brand and technical standards| participating in value engineering
opportunities| working with vendors and Project Directors to meet project
schedules| and any design issue that impacts the overall success of
renovations services.

Support architectural design for Focus and Full Service projects within MENA|
including new developments| conversions and adaptive re-use projects|
particularly pre-signing. Management of architectural design for full and
focused service projects within MENA.

Work with the development team in creating property specific area programs
which will form the basis of the architectural planning brief.

Assist development team in pre-signed deals to complete architectural plan
reviews and direction to architects.

Contribute to region specific requirements to global Brand standards for all
Hilton Brands.

Participate at projects Design Review Workshops/Meetings.

Work with Owner/Developer design team and Project Directors. Design direct and
guide consultants on each project to achieve Hilton Brands standards and
requirements.

Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to Owner/Developers|
Hilton management and Architecture| Design & Construction.

Conduct project handovers with Project Directors upon signing of all deals.

Assist A|D&C team in the review of conversion opportunities to Hilton Brands.

Prepare presentations of selected projects for submittal to DRC (Design Review
Committee).

Participate in post-opening Design reviews with the Operations team and A|D&C.

Support Project Directors with Interior Design feedback on Focus Service
projects when required.

Stay knowledgeable about the Hotel Design industry and work to introduce new
products and materials to the company as well as guiding design groups to
their availability and potential project application.

Position Overview:
Independently performs a wide variety of conventional and moderately-complex architectural assignments by applying architectural design standards, practices, and techniques. Provides construction supervision for precast and prefabricated buildings. The incumbent at this level is proficient in the utilization of standard architectural techniques and is thoroughly familiar with company procedures.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs general architectural works including architectural design, site visits and inspections and prepares related reports.

Reviews CAD drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards prepared by Architectural Designers. Makes new proposals and/or modify existing drawings when necessary. Ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards as well as client requirements.
Writes construction specifications and prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials when needed. Interfaces with suppliers as required.
Coordinates work with engineering and construction units at project site. Reviews, approves, and issues detailed design and construction drawings and specifications prepared by others.
Provides technical guidance to Architectural staff working on the same project.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Architecture.
Minimum of 15 years relevant experience. Construction supervision experience with a consulting firm.
Experience in construction supervision of precast and prefabricated buildings.

· liaising with developers and or planning professionals in relation to 100 + hectare master plan community
 
· review design/planning submissions from developers and or planning project teams and provide recommendation to the master developer as to the feasibility and compliance to an approved master planned community

· liaising with governmental authorities such as the Department of Urban Planning, Transportation, Environmental, and the like. Prepare written correspondence to Authority Agencies in letter and electronic formats.
 
· Familiarity with the following: municipal planning regulations, development submittal procedures to governmental authorities; plot registration procedures, land use regulations, and environmental impact studies, and the like.
 
· Work within a small project team environment. Work independently. closely with a team of other professionals such as building service engineers, construction managers, quantity surveyors and architectural technologists

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture with a maximum of 15-25 years of architectural experience.
Considerable knowledge of the practices and principals of design. Large development master plans. Highrise commercial and retail development experience required.

Knowledge of computers and basic software applications: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).

The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential. Self-motivated and can work without significant supervision is a requirement

Previous experience communicating with Sr. Management, VIP and VVIP client interaction extremely desirable

Strong writing and verbal skills are necessary

Requires proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts.

Proficiency in CAD version 2010 or later and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required, as well as demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong presentation skills.

Job Duties:
 
To support the planning and design teams in the production of conceptual and detailed designs and associated contract drawings, presentation drawings, schedules and specifications for landscape and urban improvement schemes.
