Coordinate closely with each property General Manager and Engineering Leader in the development and implementation of a comprehensive maintenance programme to ensure maximum operating efficiency of all machinery and equipment in accordance with specifications of the manufacturer or design engineer.
Ensure that all Engineering Leaders carry out procedures as outlined in the Uniform System of Engineering and that complete files of drawings, prints, specifications and equipment manuals for each property are in place and maintained.
Recommend to the CVP – Engineering manning budgets and requirements for new hotels, as well as recommend changes in established payroll budgets at existing hotels.
Submit monthly reports to the CVP – Engineering, which shall include e.g. critical equipment breakdowns, outages and major deviations from normal operating practice, progress on previous recommendations, status of new projects, payroll analysis, etc.
Assist Engineering Leaders in the selection of key team members in the event of a vacancy and with related training programmes as required.
Conduct periodic visits to each property in the area and inspect the engineers log, maintenance files, follow up on progresses and consult with General Manager and other Department Leaders, like Housekeeping, Kitchen and Laundry regarding maintenance problems.
Conduct monthly appraisals regarding the effectiveness of the HL&P and R&M functions of each property within the area to ensure work policies and operating procedures are being properly observed and to assure prompt corrective actions are taken when required.
Develop a checklist of unfinished or improperly finished items at newly opened properties, coordinate with the Project Manager regarding completion and indicate progress to the CVP – Engineering.
Assist the Engineering Leader in the preparation of the annual POMEC budget.
Be available on a 24-hour basis for call-out to assist in major breakdowns and emergencies that cannot be resolved by an individual property Engineering Leader.
Recommend energy conservation methods and investigate ways and means of further reducing consumption.
