Duties and Responsibilities:
Deputize for the Resident Engineer, when required.
Supervise contractor’s work to achieve construction in accordance with the contract documents.
Review contractor’s technical submissions.
Provide all necessary on-site direction and issue site instructions.
Supervise site inspection staff.
Confirm measure of work done for interim valuations.
Observe site safety practices.

Record up-to-date contract information.
Prepare progress reports as required.

Confirm correctness and completeness of ‘as built’ drawings.
Provide leadership and advice to subordinate staff.
Monitor contractor’s compliance with the requirements of approved safety plan and report deficiencies immediately to the Supervisor.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum 10 years of experience in construction supervision of infrastructure and land development projects.
Strong analytic capabilities and the ability to work independently.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
Ability to handle the physical aspects of required field work.

Position Title Assistant Resident Engineer,Dubai

Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer/ Assistant Resident Engineer to be based on site in Dubai. The successful candidate is responsible for works under the technical direction of the Resident Engineer and review & approval of all submittals as well as the technical supervision of senior/other inspectors.

Job Duties :
Assisting the Resident Engineer in the management and administration of various construction contract packages.

Reviewing the contractor’s progress at all times.

Monitoring the work performed, the material incorporated in the work, the materials stored at the site and the contractor’s manpower, equipment and report.

Coordinating the efforts of separate contractors and liaise with local authorities.

Observing the safety procedures followed by the contractor.

Issuing instructions as necessary to correct safety violations.

Attending weekly, monthly and other progress meetings held at the site as required. Review the contractor’s progress.

Identifying constraints and recommend corrective measures.

Remaining vigilant regarding all aspects of the construction activities and monitor the supervision consultant staff performance & their compliance with agreement terms.

Assisting with preparation and transmittal of site directions and instructions.

Coordinating with the team on site to ensure that contractual obligations are met. Carry out other tasks as may be assigned to you with your expertise from time to time.

Undertaking overview supervision duties on site to ensure general compliance of the works with specification and contract requirements and when necessary cause to address deficiencies associated with the same.

Coordinating all aspects of submittals, review and approvals against contract requirements and when applicable report and advice on deviations from the same.

Coordinating as may be required with client on all specialist participation related to the final acceptance of the works.

Assisting client in all aspects of the final acceptance of the work and close-out of all applicable contracts related to the same.

Specific Skills :

Strong Construction supervision experience.

Well experienced in the construction of sewage treatment plants.

High level of critical thinking skills.

High level of numerical skills.

Strong English communication skills.

Must have ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports etc

Person Specification :

Accuracy and precision of work

Must be a self-starter and possess leadership qualities.

Able to interface with both clients and other inter-office discipline at a senior level

Strong command of written and spoken English

Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure

Accountability for assigned work

Minimum Requirements

Work experience of not less than 10 years in construction and/or supervision

Must also have a full knowledge of existing networks in the Emirate of Dubai

Preferred Qualifications
