Job Summary
 
Design Manager will responsible for providing technical expertise, leadership, and mentoring on a various building projects. Represents the Client’s design interests and provides technical leadership to assure that all design documents reviewed or produced are of the high quality and within the context of the project requirements, schedule and budget.

The Design Manager will lead the effort in coordinating and managing the Architectural, ID and Structural components in coordination with the other disciplines scope on construction projects. This candidate will work with the Project team to ensure successful pre and post contract completion of the project. Reporting to the Project Lead on site. Oversees reviews & manages implementation of construction documentation. Responsible to manage teams of discipline Engineers on site. Supports the Project Lead technically and will liaise with design office, contractor and client stakeholders as well as the relevant authorities.

Job Duties:

Coordinate design reviews with other packages’ design review manager and all project team reviewers

Responsible for resolving design issues with Design Consultants and communicating those issues to the project delivery team

Identify and report scope creep to the Project Director

Reply to Contractors’ RFI’s related to Design Consultants intents

Provide deliverables schedule input to Consultants and Contractors, and ensure on-time delivery of documents

Review design documents and provide comments

Review all comments for relevance and consistency

Provide technical leadership to assure that all technical work reviewed is of high quality, accurate, and within the context of schedule and budget

Provide review schedule input to Project Director and Project Manager

Assure design is in conformance with contractual requirements

Assure that all design submissions meet the quality standards set forth by the program

Report progress to Project Director

Coordinate with Design Review Team to develop and continuously improve the design review process and to maintain quality

Implement and follow Quality Assurance Program procedures

Coordinate the work of the project team with other engineering disciplines through liaison with other professionals. Monitor the work of staff allocated to specific packages to ensure that technical competence and performance meet the requirements of allocated packages. Ensure that the project is delivered on time and on budget.

Identify specialized engineering or consultancy firms for owner approval

Organize design workshops to enhance design delivery

Prepare RFPs for design consultant services

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 15 years’ experience within project / construction management on similar role.

​Working knowledge of RIBA, AIA definitions of design stages and the application of them

Min15+ years of experience in building construction

Background in consultancies, contractors or a mix of both is required

Good understanding of all disciplines

Thorough knowledge and understanding of International and local Building Codes related to building construction.

Experience in managing, coordinating and actively monitoring contractors and subcontractors

Have a proven track record as a Manager on major projects such as healthcare. High Rise, Retail, Mixed Use, Public Realm, landscaping and Infrastructure type projects.

Strong technical design background and broad experience within the relevant discipline.

Demonstrated design and site based experience.

Aware of the latest trends in the specific field of expertise.

HSE awareness and prepared to ensure safety is regarded as a priority

LEED and/ or Estidama, Dubai Green Building and sustainability skills preferred

Knowledge of BIM and their applications

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/ Structural/ Civil or equivalent from a recognized Institution

Position Title Wet Utilities Inspector

Job Summary
AECOM are seeking an experienced Wet Utilities Inspector for a major infrastructure project located in Dubai. The role involves both inspection and the supervision of infrastructure services works of the project. To ensure that the activities are being executed in accordance with the project specification.

Job Duties :
Be familiar with the project’s contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures together with any associated updates.

Ensure the contractor/s compliance with the standards and specifications of the contract documents.

Maintain records of the contractor human and equipment daily resources.

Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Civil Engineer.

Liaise and daily follow up with the contractor. This is to ensure the contractor is managing its resources, health and safety, and equipment needs on the site.

Prepare daily report to the RE or CE. This includes works orders, materials delivery, and daily inspections program.

Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and ARE.

Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.

Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the RE or ARE for pipes alignments and levels.

Co-ordinate and co-operate with client project manager during their site inspections in the presence of the RE or ARE.

Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain relevant records.

Assist the CE and RE in the preparation of any correspondences in compliance with the contract documents and site requirements.

Where site problems are found, work with the RE or CE to resolve them promptly.

Monitor the start-up, commissioning and handover of the site works. Including maintaining records of the project milestones.

Maintain records of materials tests performed and executed works.

Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans.

Specific Skills Required :

Strong Construction supervision experience.

Well experienced in the civil and infrastructure supervision

High level of critical thinking skills.

High level of numerical skills.

Must have ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports etc.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 8 years of experience within similar projects

Middle East experience preferred

Relevant experience in comparable infrastructure & mixed-use projects

Familiarity with utilities and related works is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering

Job Duties:

Work with and assist the Resident Engineer in highlighting and effectively communicating any shortfall of the programme to the Client PM.

Monitor work programmes and status, ensuring progress reported is a true reflection of work achieved, and report areas of concern or particular progress to the RE.

Attend any relevant planning meetings with project managers and contractor.

Scrutinise in detail the contractor work programme in relation to logics, critical paths, floats and lags and make any necessary comments to the RE.

Work closely with contractor’s planning team to ensure that work programmes are in accordance with contractual requirements.

To ensure that the contractor’s schedule is prepared using the specified timeframe as indicted in the work order approved by the client.

To ensure that the Contractor’s CPM plan shall be drawn to a level of details sufficient to show clearly all salient features of the work order and the sequence of activities are clearly demonstrated.

To ensure that the Contractor’s schedule of the work order is submitted along with the salient information such as concise written description of the construction plan, cost and the required resources.

To assist the Resident Engineer in determining the Extension of Time claims by the Contractor.

To assist the Resident Engineer in the preparation of Bi Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports

To ensure the quality of the works during the construction stage by regular site visits and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

To participate in handing over of the work orders.

Assist the Resident Engineer in carrying out any correspondence needed with the client, the contractor and Government Departments (if needed).

Specific Skills Required:

Extensive experience in the construction field in UAE

High level of critical thinking skills.

High level of numerical skills.

Strong English communication skills.

Must have ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports etc

Minimum Requirements

8+ years demonstrable experience in supervision of construction of roads, water, sewerage and drainage projects.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering

High competency / knowledge in Primavera, MS Project, FIDIC

Check all work by completing traverse closures and bench circuits.

Check completed work for conformance to the line and grade required by the project plans in coordination with the Inspector assigned to the item of work.

Perform regular checks of the Contractor’s setting out to verify proper execution and accuracy.

AECOM is seeking an experienced Materials Inspector for a major Roads and Infrastructure and bridges projects located in Dubai. The role involves both inspection and the supervision of Roads and Infrastructure works of the project and to ensure that the activities are being executed in accordance with the project specification.

Job Details:

Inspect site conditions prior to start of construction activities. Verify the compatibility of the site with the designed permanent works.

Check for obstructions. Photograph and document the condition of existing property that might be damaged by the work. Make sure all existing structures, property, utilities and landscaping are properly protected.

Review materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples, materials and equipment and report findings to RE.

Check that materials delivered to site are properly stored and report discrepancies to the RE.

Inspect the construction of temporary and permanent works to ensure compliance with the Contract Documents and approved shop drawings and submittals

Prepare daily logs and reports. Maintain records of inspections made, tests performed, work executed, etc perform all work in accordance with the Contract Administration Procedures Manual.

Observe site safety practices and the progress of the work. Report any concerns to the RE.

Assists with the inspection of completed works. Help prepare punch lists. Monitor the start-up, testing, commissioning and handover of the works.

AECOM are seeking an experienced Inspector for a major infrastructure project located in Dubai. The role involves both inspection and the supervision of infrastructure services works of the project. To ensure that the activities are being executed in accordance with the project specification.

Job Duties :

  • Be familiar with the project’s contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures together with any associated updates.
  • Ensure the contractor/s compliance with the standards and specifications of the contract documents.
  • Maintain records of the contractor human and equipment daily resources.
  • Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
  • Liaise and daily follow up with the contractor. This is to ensure the contractor is managing its resources, health and safety, and equipment needs on the site.
  • Prepare daily report to the RE or ARE. This includes works orders, materials delivery, and daily inspections program.
  • Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and ARE.
  • Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
  • Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the RE or ARE for pipes alignments and levels.
  • Co-ordinate and co-operate with client project manager during their site inspections in the presence of the RE or ARE.
  • Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain relevant records.
  • Assist the ARE and RE in the preparation of any correspondences in compliance with the contract documents and site requirements.
  • Where site problems are found, work with the RE or ARE to resolve them promptly.
  • Monitor the start-up, commissioning and handover of the site works. Including maintaining records of the project milestones.
  • Maintain records of materials tests performed and executed works.
  • Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans.
