Play Your Part
In this role you will be responsible to works on the maintenance and repairs of the costumes and accessories; including Headpieces, Masks, Inner and Outer Footwear, Character Harnesses, Foam Padding and Pod pieces. The Costume Craft Technician is responsible for informing Supervisors of fitting request and scheduling issues; along with purchase request of craft supplies needed to maintain daily operations and values of Dubai Parks and Resorts.

Main Duties:

Required to have a strong background in hand and airbrushing painting, glues & epoxy, dying, fabricating, mold making, foam carving, plastic and aluminium repairs, machine and hand sewing skills to manage the maintenance of the shows.
Have an understanding, of pattern making and manipulation, fittings, alterations, and building techniques.
Create and maintain the costume character “look” books including maintenance techniques and paint recipes.
Assist in the development of maintenance, repair, and cleaning procedures.
Efficiently communicate and disperse information with management, artist, and team members.
Support all Departmental Rules and Artists Policies report any issues to the Supervisor on Duty.
Adhere to and enforce Health and Safety Policies and Participate in all required safety classes.
Attend Team meetings and other tasks as assigned by your Supervisor.
Daily Duties, may require sitting, standing, and walking for lengthy periods of time.
Any “Other” Reasonable Duties may be requested by the Management Team.

Are You a Star?
In order to be qualified for this role you should possess the below criteria:

Essential:

A recognised diploma or degree in Theatre, Theatrical Related Fields
2 years’ experience in a professional theme park, theatre or cruise line
3 years’ experience in an entertainment related workplace
Knowledge of fabrication, painting, molding
Knowledge of costume construction methods, care, and maintenance
Knowledge of Photoshop, Excel, Word, and Outlook

Desirable:

Certifications of further studies or educational upgrades relevant to the field of work
Certifications for training, participation and licenses relevant to the field of work
2 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial position

Play Your Part
In this role you will be responsible to assist the Costume/Wardrobe Manager in development and implementation of tools and processes to successfully open and run all aspects of the Costume/Wardrobe department.

Main Duties:

Communicate effectively and efficiently with management as well as direct reports and team members.

In coordination with manager, establish and evaluate department policies, procedures and processes. As a continuous process improvement and development plan, review regularly with manager and adjust as needed.

Understand safety requirements and ensure the daily emphasis on a safe workplace.

Interface with outside vendors to establish and maintain smooth daily operations.

Setup and maintain the costume/wardrobe inventory system.

Work with the company system to create and track weekly team member schedules.

Generate and execute training/SOP documents and standards for Costume/Wardrobe team members.

Develop ongoing training classes and career development tools for team member’s success.

Set objectives, create milestones and conduct appraisals for direct reports within the Electronic Performance Management System guidelines.

Help to identify successors within the team and prepare them for their next accountable roles. In consultation with HR, recommend external trainings where required.

Create assessment tests for core competencies needed in the hiring of certain costume/wardrobe team members.

Create a safe, fun working environment for our team members.

Work with Costume Manager on designing/developing/producing costume and/or wardrobe for new projects as well as redesigns as necessary.

Collaborate with costume/wardrobe manager to create tech packs for wardrobe production.

Create and update all Costume/Wardrobe documentation, including character breakdown, dressing and care specifications.

Weekly reviews of all shows/venues to ensure quality control of costumes/wardrobe.

Track and report financials for daily operating budgets. Work closely with manager to flag any budgetary issues.

Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Management Team

Are You a Star?
In order to be qualified for this role you should possess the below criteria:

Essential:

University Diploma

5 years plus experience managing wardrobe or costume departments in Theme Parks, University, Cruise Lines or Live Theatre

Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook.

Knowledge of sewing/tailoring, cutting/fitting, patternmaking.

Proficient in English

Desirable:

University Diploma in Theatrical Costuming

Managerial experience in Wardrobe department

Managing inventory systems.
