Manager Cargo – Ground Ops Load Engineering

Job description

Responsible for the development of engineering and technical expertise for SkyCargo to safely engage in the transport of heavy and out-sized cargo as well as other special cargo types requiring engineering competencies. Manage the Load Master division to ensure that weight and balance activities, special cargo loading /unloading and necessary approvals and permits are in compliance with OEM manuals, company operational manuals and international regulatory bodies.

Job Outline

· Responsible for the selection, training, rostering and performance evaluation of Load Masters. Ensure training and recurrent training such as weight and balance, safety and emergency procedures, first aid, documentation and handling of dangerous goods are valid and carried out regularly.
· Manage the load master functions to ensure safe and efficient handling and loading of cargo, including oversized and heavy, as per company policies and procedures and all applicable governmental, legislative and regulatory requirements in order to avoid damage to aircraft, cargo, equipment and personnel.
· Develop, setup and manage ground support operational policies and procedures for the transport of heavy and out-sized cargo
· Deliver engineering and technical consultancy services to clients on feasible methods of delivery, packing and transportation of heavy and oversized cargo, covering all stages including product design and manufacturing aspects if needed.
· Develop and implement shoring/loading and restraint schemes and specifications for heavy and oversized cargo.
· When required, responsible for the ground support arrangements at the airports for loading and unloading oversized cargo, including delivery to/from airport including obtaining all necessary authorizations, approvals and permits.
· Provide the network with the technical and professional expertise in cargo related aircraft loading activities and promote EK SkyCargo ability to handle oversized and diverse unusual cargo.
· Develop and disseminate best practices in safety performance and engineering operational processes in new upstream ventures.
· Responsible and accountable to establish, implement and ensure compliance with the industry safety/security standards and approved international regulations. Introduce and manage quality and safety procedures to minimise risk to staff and operations. Review and action safety audit findings, risk analysis and incident investigations related to oversized cargo loading/handling activities in coordination with Group Safety and Flight Ops.
· Liaise with SkyCargo and EG IT units for the development of automated system solutions related to cargo weight and balance, loading and unloading activities.

· Monitor constantly FIDS for accurate data display across the airport.

Traffic Approvals:

· Granting urgent landing permissions to the scheduled aircrafts outside the office hours.

· Granting Landing Permissions to non-scheduled aircrafts

· Granting passenger traffic rights to the airlines by coordinating with the concerned.

· Follow- up scheduled and non-scheduled aircraft movements, and collecting the necessary charge in case of the later.

· Feed all approvals into the system (non-schedule) & follow up non-schedule aircrafts movement (ARR/DEP).

· Preparing non-schedule aircraft charge payee agreement form unless previous arrangements have been made before the departure of the aircraft

· Coordinating with the account section and replying any queries raised by them.

· Co-coordinating with ministry of foreign affairs (aviation affairs), armed forces (military operations) Amiri flights (operations) in regards to granting diplomatic permissions to the aircraft.

· Co-ordination with concerned authorities in case of full emergency, local stand by, and other accidents/incidents as per rules and regulations.

· Co-ordination with airport security authorities and providing them with the necessary information when required as per rules and regulations

The controller has to:

We are currently seeking Legacy 600 Captains to join us on a full-time contract. This role will report directly to the Chief Pilot FW-VIP and will attract a competitive salary plus additional benefits including accommodation allowance, schooling allowance, 45 calendar days’ holidays per year, medical cover, 1 flight per annum to home country etc.

The ideal candidate will have:

Valid ATPL (GCAA / EASA / ICAO)
Valid EMB135BJ (Legacy 600) Type Rating
Minimum of 3000 hours PIC
Minimum 1000 hours on Type
Minimum 5000 hours Total Time
Valid Class 1 Medical
English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate with business departments to identify and detail requirements, to ensure audio and visual content is accurate and compliant with brand guidelines
Initiate, monitor and finalize developed concepts and samples to ensure compliance with business requirements
Develop creative concept designs in coordination with marketing team to ensure alignment with national and international market trends
Coordinate implementation of creative projects with external suppliers for the production of final materials to ensure accuracy and on time delivery
Enhance continuously proper skills in use of graphics software and in specialization area, to ensure up-to-date knowledge of materials, production methods and of national and international market trends

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Diploma (2 years or more).
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in relevant field; Experience in Advertisement or Creative Agency, preferably in the area of specialization is an advantage;
Knowledge of following graphic programs: In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Fireworks, Premiere, Dreamweaver.

Job Description include (but are not limited to):

Responsible for Safety and Security of the aircraft and passengers and Cargo on board, as far as his duties are concerned; and in the absence of the commander for any reason.

Maintain familiarity with Etihad’s Operations Manual as are necessary to fulfil his function both professionally and safely

Assist the commander as requested, concerning any administrative duties in relation to the flight

Support the Commander in the maintenance of a proper standard of crew discipline, conduct and personal appearance

Carrying out such duties concerning the flight in accordance with Etihad’s operating policies and procedures, as are allocated to him by the Commander

Confirming the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check upon both the geographical position of the aircraft ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance

Conducting the flight in compliance with the current flight plan, SOPs and the Commander’s instructions when the Commander is not at the controls, and to subsequently notify the Commander of any change to the current flight plan, ATC or geographical position upon his return

Providing such advice, information and assistance without hesitation if required, to the Commander as may contribute favorably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight

Maintaining a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways at all times.

In the event of Commander Incapacitation, the highest ranking Co-Pilot assigned to the flight shall assume command.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time.

A minimum of 1500 hours on multi crew, glass cockpit or high performance military jet

500 hours should be on the B777

Current on B777

ICAO current and unrestricted ATPL. We do not accept Frozen ATPL unless held by a UAE citizen

Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical.

Maximum age limit is 50 years old.

English Language Fluency ( written and verbal ) Level 4 or better

In case of hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours shall be counted towards the required minimums

Salary and Benefits:
Starting salary of AED 26,000 or US$ 7,075 per month for First Officer and an annual salary increment of 2%.
Flight duty allowance of AED 40 per flying hour.
Meal allowance during layovers as per the following rates:

Middle East/ GCC/ Sub Continent

AED 12 per hour

Asia/ Far East

AED 15 per hour

Africa/ Australasia

AED 18 per hour

Europe/ Americas

AED 23 per hour

Housing allowance up to AED 160000 per year or company provided housing depending on availability.

Education allowance of AED 36000 for primary and AED 50400 for secondary up to 4 children.
