Role Summary

To provide a complete and comprehensive media check on content and system functionality for our clients based on the monthly processes and protocols as outlined.

Key Responsibilities

• Chase and monitor delivery of media encodes on a day by day basis

• Inputting and management of metadata in database systems

• Responsible for spotting and fixing any issues spotted at the rack

• Capacity to work individually or as part of a team depending on the tasks requirements.

• Compiling the media files for the update cycles and checking for any defects.

• Patience and an analytical approach to tasks and problem solving

• Testing media alongside the third-party software to ensure functionality before releasing to our clients.

• Assisting with the training of other team members to expand their product knowledge.

• Ensuring that agreed operational guidelines are adhered to rigorously without deviation.

• Liaising both, in person, and via electronic communication with third parties and clients in order to facilitate a common goal.

• Responsible for on time media delivery


– High level of experience with MS Office – Word, Excel, Access

– Excellent knowledge of English grammar and spelling

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills

– Knowledge of current media formats and trends


– General knowledge and good understanding of popular TV, movies and audio

– Good Multi-tasking and organisational skills.

– The ability to interact with customers and resolve problems

– Ability to co-ordinate with different teams and manage to tight deadlines

Senior Manager – M2M/IoT


  • Job Purpose

  • The role is for heading the M2M/IoT business at Thuraya. It involves contributing towards building a M2M/IoT strategy and supporting its business and revenue objectives across all market channels. The role will serve as a subject matter expert in IoT/M2M and will focus on the development, launch and sustainability of IoT and M2M product portfolios to ensure revenue growth. Aside from ensuring that the right portfolios of products are developed and made available across all market channels, the role will have a special emphasis on continuous IoT/M2M innovation and effective marketing strategies to position Thuraya as the market leader in the IoT/M2M business stream.
  • Role and Responsibilities

    • Head the M2M/IoT business at Thuraya
    • Build an effective business plan and strategy that will support Thuraya’s IoT/M2M business and revenue objectives.
    • Responsible for the development and delivery of the market strategy and positioning to ensure a solid value proposition for our target customers
    • Lead in the planning, development and launch of IoT/M2M product portfolio.
    • Create innovation plans and improvements for the IoT/M2M product portfolio based on researching new products and assessing the target and current market trends.
    • Responsible for global market development activities associated with M2M/IoT business. The market development activities would involve meeting the customers from different sectors in different geographies, explain the value proposition of Thuraya M2M/IoT services and generate interest in our M2M/IoT services.
    • Market development activities should be carried out in line with the agreed market strategy and in close coordination with the SP’s and/or regional directors.
    • Deliver a deep understanding of market need from interaction with customers, partners and relevant teams within Thuraya.
    • Create and maintain a best in class roadmap for the products within the role’s portfolio.
    • Analyze commercial performance and quality of service for the product within the role’s portfolio and address variations from the business plan.
    • Build strong collaborative relationships with internal teams particularly the Distribution, Marketing, Communications and Product & Solutions Development.
    • Implement, facilitate and conduct thorough and comprehensive periodic reviews with partners and key sales team members.
    • Represent Thuraya in various M2M/IoT related international events and exhibitions.
    • Manage the performance of subordinates and ensure achievement of individual and team KPIs.
    • Lead subordinates and provide them with technical guidance, training and the required growth opportunities to ensure that they are developed for higher-level roles.
    • Provide direction and support to members of the extended team.
    • Own the Revenue, Capex and Opex budget for M2M/IoT product line and implement necessary strategy to achieve the revenue target.
    • Demonstrate an aptitude for working collaboratively , hosting multi-disciplinary workshops and developing ideas in an innovative environment. ♦ Attend trade shows and conferences to support launches and gather competitive information as required
    • Understand customer needs to ensure programs and services meet those needs and engage intimately with customers on an ongoing basis
    • Be able to lead through competence and command of the subject matter and be happy to present to large audiences on matters of the programs
    • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the Company
  • Required Skills and Experience

    • At least 10 years of global leadership experience in project and product management, marketing strategy and execution.
    • At least 5 years of experience in IoT/M2M technologies and product management.
    • Proven expertise in connected devices, enterprise software and innovative products.
    • Startup experience and ability to formulate effective product portfolio business plan and strategy.
    • Satellite or Telecom industry experience in a leadership function.
    • Strong knowledge of market development and product management trends within Satellite Telecommunication / Telecommunication industry.
    • Ability to deliver against set work objective and targets.
    • Strong Technical aptitude – ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.

  • Job Purpose

  • The Product and Solution Engineer’s (PSE) job entails working mostly with Product and Solution Representatives (internal and external) to develop products and solutions aligned with the Company’s roadmap and to give required technical support during the life cycle of the launched products/services.. The PSE will work with engineering teams of vendors to research, understand the customer needs, and determine the overall business and technical solution using company and third party products and services. The PSE is responsible to provide sales engineering support for our channel partners as well as end-users and respond to in-depth customer questions and inquiries. The main duty is to understand the business issues in-depth and work with the vendor(s) closely to solve any technical issues that arise during the development process to ensure the product and/or solution is aligned with the business requirements to determine the solution(s) that will provide key big business value.
  • Principal Accountabilities

    • Understanding product and/or capability gaps or functionality in our existing portfolio and define ways to address them using products, applications, accessories or solutions from third party partners
    • Defining and driving the best company products to our channel partners and end-users to address market requirements of prospect business
    • Defining product technical specifications and requirements clearly in order to differentiate the Thuraya offers against the competitive products in the market
    • Communicating our portfolio of products, solutions and services  the commercial teams to allow them to provide more value to our channel partners and end-users during the sales process
    • Hands on testing and troubleshooting for products and solutions developed by third party vendors

    • Proven experience in product engineering functions, distribution support and customer service ideally within the telecom industry
