Job Summary
AECOM is currently seeking an experienced a site based Mechanical Engineer to work on construction projects in Abu Dhabi
Job Duties:
Manages directly and provide engineering and technical supports to all the Mechanical work groups at site.

Plans the execution of all Mechanical related works and coordinates the works to Electrical and civil groups.

Assign targets for accomplishments and ensure targets are met on daily basis for all Mechanical groups at site.

Submits site daily reports, inspection requests, estimates and all applicable monitoring reports on regular basis or as required.

Supports the MEP Manager in accomplishing all the goals and targets for the Mechanical scope on site.

Ensures that all the works done are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and all applicable standards whether local, national or international standards.

Ensures that all site works are done according to all applicable quality standards.

Attends regular meeting with client, civil engineers and consultant to provide update on project progress.

Pre-resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems at site that may arise at any time.

To collaborate with cost control and planning department in preparing the daily progress reports.

Able to lead site inspectors to execute and completion of job on time at site

Minimum Requirements

Experience in basic design requirements, estimation, installation and all site activities related to all Mechanical works for construction supervision of large-scale building projects/ ( Malls/High Rise/Villas/Mixed use developments)

Familiar with all the Mechanical Engineering methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools and manpower allocations related to Mechanical works for building projects.

Computer literate – proficient in programs such as AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the relevant discipline design software.

Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.

Detailed knowledge of construction methodology, installation techniques, materials and authority regulations, codes and standards

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject is required.

A professional organisational membership will be advantageous.

To ensure that the Contractor’s schedule of the work order is submitted along with the salient information such as concise written description of the construction plan, cost and the required resources.

To assist the Resident Engineer in determining the Extension of Time claims by the Contractor.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are currently looking to hire an experienced Project Director to lead and deliver on a major Intelligent Transportation System Project in Dubai.

The Project Director will report to the Engineer and will be responsible for multiple Contract Packages. He will co-ordinate with Client, Services Authorities, Resident Engineers and the Contractors to avoid any potential conflict between different Contract Packages. Responsible to co-ordinate with Resident Engineers and different Contract packages to minimize claims and disputes. He will provide additional counsel to the Resident Engineers to ensure efficient management of Contracts and will also ensure that uniform good engineering practices are adopted on all the Contracts. Attends all the important meetings along with the Resident Engineer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide on-site leadership for project team by team building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
Plan, direct, coordinate, and lead activities to ensure that goals, objectives and all elements of the project are accomplished within the prescribed project Charter.
Ensure co-ordination between the Contract Packages
Facilitate communications between the RE’s, Contractors Staff, Client Staff and Service Authorities
Take the lead with monthly reporting of the overall Project to the Client
Ensure that a uniform approach to supervision is adopted across the Contract Packages

1.The concept / theme is a streets and square concept, with an outdoor ambience incorporated within an indoor conditioned environment. Aesthetically designed keeping the family shopper in mind, the retail offerings of the mall have been categorized into 3 distinct districts. The project will feature 2 million square feet of leasable space spread over ground and first floor levels, comprising c.650 retail and F&B outlets, three major family entertainment centres, a 20-screen Cineplex, a hypermarket, and outdoor events area.

2.The mall will deliver modern ”industrial chic” architecture and interior design and will provide over 50 F&B offerings across two levels with external terraces to maximise the integration with the adjoining Expo Plaza Park, an urban green park of multi-recreational and sports usage. Key entertainment offerings include a 9 screen cinema and large family entertainment centre located at opposite ends of the linear mall positioned to draw custom down the main mall concourse spine of approximately 300m in length. The mall will consist of c. 180 units.

Tenancy Coordination & Delivery/Project Management Services:

The scope of services to be performed by the Service Provider shall include as a minimum:

a) Ensure all works pertaining to the retail unit fit out and handover of the trading units to The Dubai Mall Operational Team are completed on time and to the required standards.
b) Ensure nominated unit is ready for handover prior to tenant commencement.
c) Management of all pre-handover contractor briefing, meetings and minutes of the same
d) Ensure all tenancy fit outs are in-line with the approved drawings and project standards
e) Carry out daily on-site inspections and fit out progress monitoring reporting
