Technical Competencies

Essential:

Aesthetically designed keeping the family shopper in mind, the retail offerings of the mall have been categorized into 3 distinct districts. The project will feature 2 million square feet of leasable space spread over ground and first floor levels, comprising c.650 retail and F&B outlets, three major family entertainment centres, a 20-screen Cineplex, a hypermarket, and outdoor events area.

2.The mall will deliver modern ”industrial chic” architecture and interior design and will provide over 50 F&B offerings across two levels with external terraces to maximise the integration with the adjoining Expo Plaza Park, an urban green park of multi-recreational and sports usage. Key entertainment offerings include a 9 screen cinema and large family entertainment centre located at opposite ends of the linear mall positioned to draw custom down the main mall concourse spine of approximately 300m in length. The mall will consist of c. 180 units.

Tenancy Coordination & Delivery/Project Management Services:

The scope of services to be performed by the Service Provider shall include as a minimum:

a) Ensure all works pertaining to the retail unit fit out and handover of the trading units to The Dubai Mall Operational Team are completed on time and to the required standards.

Department Definition
The International Participants Department at Expo 2020 Dubai is responsible for the management of quality participation of official participants at the Expo.

Opportunity Responsibilities
The Pavilion Content Designer will work directly with the Storytelling and Content Curation team to develop and visualise concepts to ensure that the pavilions and its content are exceptionally complementary.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

– Conceptual modelling, creating initial design sketches, as well as detailed computer-generated 2D and 3D visuals, sometimes building models and prototypes;

– Liaise with internal and external teams to explore all material and structural opportunities;

– Ensure all exhibitions and displays have a definite link to Expo2020 other assets and overall theme;

– Work closely with quantity surveyors to establish costs and work schedules on projects, with architects and other design professionals to determine the best use of space, and with manufacturers and contractors;

– Source products, e.g. fittings, furniture, lighting, finishes, decoration and dressings;

– Liaise with internal departments to coordinate and facilitate the shipment of materials/content needed for the pavilions.

Skills
5+ years’ experience within a design-related (architecture, urbanism or design) field as well as:

– Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Urbanism/Design or related fields;

– A high level of technical knowledge, including 2D and 3D modeling skills;

– Knowledge and experience using design software, such as Auto CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, 3DS Max, SketchUp;

– Fluent in English with other languages preferred (Arabic, French, or Spanish);

– Strong aesthetic and solid technical design knowledge with understanding and/or hands-on experience in specific exhibition skillsets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The BIM Operator must possess strong computer CAD/BIM skills and able to produce 3D/2D dimensional models required for drawing preparation as per the local authority’s standards; produce professional drawings and reports for presentation and review. The candidate needs to work closely with the Engineers in developing and finalizing designs of assigned scope of works. The candidate will prepare engineering drawings comprised of basic arrangements, layouts, profiles, sections, surface grading etc; check accuracy of layouts and drawings and make adjustments as necessary; file and maintain drawings to ensure proper back-up. The candidate need to review and clash analysis of the models, update changes as needed and perform cross disciplinary model coordination.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree/diploma in Civil Engineering preferred
Minimum of 7 years work experience in infrastructure projects
Minimum of 5 years with 3D modelling in the design of highway and utilities network
Expertise in Navisworks, Civil 3D and Microstation
Excellent communication skills in English
Good knowledge in Revit will be advantageous
